When I first got this I had read some instructions somewhere that said that the wifi antennas could be hooked up in any order as long as you got the Bluetooth connected correctly that it didn’t matter. I didn’t find this to be true, once I hooked them up in the correct order handoff started working correctly. I accidentally let the Bluetooth cable lay on top of the bay 2 HDD connector and then when I put the sled back in it pinched and completely cut the Bluetooth cable! totally my fault. I tried to solder the antenna wire but even with a perfect soldier, the Bluetooth range was drastically decreased. I ended up buying an external antenna and hooking that to the cards Bluetooth input and boom everything worked like a charm!!

Great product. On a 3.1 Mac (Early 2008) you need to remove the small blue tooth board below the Airport card. Also of note, the screw appears to be a J00 size screwdriver. This is important as it’s easy to strip the screws when removing with the wrong size screwdriver (they are very tight to start turning).

I wonder how Porkchop (posted on 1/12/16) makes his 2006 MacPro run “Yosemite” I was with the impression Apple limited the software you can run only to OSX 7.5 “Lion”

Outstanding device. This has brought my PacPro 2006 2,1 to the new age… My only question and I am also being a beggar, can I get a couple screws to lock the board down to my motherboard? My MacPro 2006 2,1 didn’t have the screws in the first place and I had to “jury-rig” a temporary solution until I can get the proper screws. I have a second MacPro 2006 2,1 which I will be ordering a second board for and will need the second screw for that purpose. Let me know. Thanks again. Great item.

Works great in my 1,1 running Yosemite. Do as others have stated, remove the factory wifi & bluetooth cards and swap this one in. You’ll have to reconnect your keyboard & mouse.

Works great, the instructions were a little thin so I added a tutorial on how to install install for a 2008 Mac Pro, should be similar on previous models.

worked great! Got it before Yosemite came out so did not know how (and if for certain) Handoff would work, but now enjoying ALL the features of Handoff/Continuity WONDERFULLY with my 2008 MacPro, my iPad Air 2, and my iPhone 5s. This really really allows me to keep the MacPro another few years. Woohooo!!

This card works as advertised. I am very pleased. My old 2008 Mac Pro is now fully functioning with continuity and hand-off. Bluetooth 4.0 LE and 802.11 ac work great. While the installation is easy, the included instructions were rather sub-standard. Just as an FYI, if handoff/continuity isn’t working after installation, you may have to log the mac out of iCloud and then log back in. Again, very happy with this purchase.

Works great with my 2008 Mac Pro. I need Bluetooth 4.0 for some fitness gear, and I removed the original Bluetooth and Wifi cards, swapped in this and connected the antennas and it all works as if it was from the factory.
